I see you pay the
freight to get cylinder heads and rebuilt
engines to us.
Who pays the freight to get the “core” back to your place?
Many of the .coms will make you pay the freight back while we quote freight included on rebuilt engines going both ways
in the state of Florida.
What happens if the “core” I
send in isn't
the same as what I ordered? No one we know of, ourselves included,
will issue credit in that case. To do so would soon deplete the industry
of rebuildable cylinder heads and engines which would drive up prices
for engine and cylinder head assemblies.
What happens if there is
damage to my “core”?
Many .coms and large rebuilders say you get credit of there is “no
visible damage”. So let's say they determine "visible
damage",
you wind up getting no credit. We do charge for non-usable castings
but it’s
only the component itself and no the entire engine (or cylinder head).
In the case of a broken crankshaft for example, we charge for that
component of the engine but you will still receive credit for the
block, connecting rods and cylinder head(s).
If I have a problem? Most
of the .coms are resellers of product, meaning they have no working
knowledge of the product and possess basic sales oriented information
about what they offer. Many times you can’t
even talk to the people who actually do the work on the engine assembly
or cylinder head you just purchased online. If it's a catastrophic
failure, many will make you take the engine out and ship it back
at your expense. If they determine (after
how many weeks?) they won’t
warranty it, then you'll get nothing other than the freight bill
you paid to ship the scrap back to them. Here at National Cylinder
Head Exchange, you get immediate attention from the people who built
it; not some sales guy running a sales desk on email. We will pick
up an engine in question the same day if you call us in the morning
or the next day if you call in during the afternoon.
What brand of parts
do you use? Do you realize that people who are resellers
have no idea what brand of parts goes into the product they sell
online? In some cases they buy through distributors and don’t
even know who built the product they are selling you, much less the
materials used to build it. Here at National Cylinder Head Exchange,
we use brand name products exclusively in all our rebuilt engines.
We will even give you a bill of materials listing the manufacturer
and part number of the parts used to produce the assembly we sell
you. Try to get that information from the .com that uses
email and quote forms to communicate with you.
Do I need to
mail a warranty registration? That’s
just a good way out of warranty: Have you ever bought something and
encountered this statement? “We
never received it!”.
Here
at National Cylinder Head Exchange, our warranty is the engine, not
the person who bought it.
